My name is Hamed Kohi, an Afghan-Canadian cybersecurity professional specializing in vulnerability research, systems architecture, and penetration testing.
I’m driven by a passion for uncovering and responsibly disclosing vulnerabilities in open-source systems to strengthen global cybersecurity.
Since beginning my journey in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2020, I’ve refined my skills significantly after relocating to Canada in 2022. Here, I’ve immersed myself in vulnerability analysis, exploit development, and red team operations, mentoring aspiring researchers and delivering cutting-edge security solutions.
One of my proudest achievements is launching the Mission Cyber Sentinel initiative, which aims to secure over 250,000 websites by identifying vulnerabilities in widely used open-source software.
I'm also the founder of Cyber Mounties, a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to providing hands-on, practical cybersecurity education both in Canada and internationally. As of June 2025, our courses have been translated into over five languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese, making them accessible across the Americas and parts of Europe.
Created Cyber Mounties Academy for democratizing cybersecurity education in Canada and abroad by offering hands-on practical cybersecurity training in over 5 languages.
